Mount Torrens is a suburb of Adelaide, South
Australia and is about 33 kms east of SA's capital
city of Adelaide. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Mount Torrens was 638 when there
were 321 Females and 317 Males living there. The

Mount Torrens is a town in the eastern Adelaide
Hills region of South Australia, 8 km east of
Lobethal along the Onkaparinga River. It is located
in the Adelaide Hills Council local government
area. Mount Torrens is one of a small number of
places in South Australia that have been given
State Heritage Area recognition for an entire area,
because it is an outstanding example of a 19th
century settlement in the leafy Adelaide Hills. It's a
gem of South Australian tourism, transporting
visitors to a completely different era.
